Day dawned rather wet and wild, but I had to run M into work and take the dogs to the Vet while conducting a conference call.  Yes, I can multitask.

Fortunately there's a fairly amazing and authentic French bakery over the road from the vet where a croissant which tasted like a croissant rather than a bread roll could be had with a nice espresso.

Headed home to carry on with CES planning... which is slowly getting done.

Got myself to the gym and had my first swim in... er... er... I really can't remember the last time I swam for exercise.  It was much harder than I remember.  Swimming was about the only sport I had any degree of competence at.  For a couple of years I swam semi-competitively for my county, which involved training 6 days a week...  so having been used to at least swimming at least a 1000m without having a problem, it was a little weird to struggle to the 500m mark.

Never mind, I'll try again later today and see if I can get back to my 1500m in 30 minutes which was my usual standard of being moderately fit.

Got home, cooked dinner and chilled.

Where does the time go?

So I've been sitting quietly in the office with the pair of them while working, after having been for a fairly long walk this afternoon.

Tyson gets up as I'm winding down, yelps and suddenly he's doing a fairly accurate repeat command performance of his FCE in June. WTF?  First, panic sets in, for both of us. He can't stand properly, he's holding his front paw up and slipping all over on his back legs.  Next, I hold him, almost in tears.

Then I notice that he's already sitting properly.  I pull him into the corridor and make him run up and down.  His not walking right but he's recovering quickly.

Hmmm...  I suspect that he'd slept badly and trapped a nerve - probably a legacy of the original injury, but F*** me that was a scary 10 minutes while I checked him out.  Especially with Vegas next week - we can't really cope with stuff like that.

Anyway.  All seems normal.  I see a scotch in my future.
