A Little More Riot Humour...

I'm so fed up; those billionaires that I know have fun and possessions that I can never ever obtain on my pitiful 6 figure salary, so to vent my frustrations I'm going to Monte Carlo and then Las Vegas to do some Oceans Eleven style rioting and looting! Social mobility hear I come!

Reno Here We Come

While not getting some actual work done (well, actually I have...) - I've also sorted out the logistics for the road trip we're taking to Reno.  

We've rented a car for the week, which, with fuel and an overnight stop still works out a LOT cheaper for the 3 of us than any of the Seattle flying options.  Plus a roadtrip to a Science Fiction Convention somehow feels *right*.

We'll be aiming to get on route a little after lunch on Tuesday, I've some work/personal stuff that blocks an earlier start.  We'll then head south, hoping to get past Portland about Rush Hour, but we'll be skirting the city...  Then on to the Oregon Border for a night in Klamath Falls, where I've booked a motel.  I was going back and forth on if we should book somewhere or plan ahead, and I've come down on the side of booking ahead - a) it gives us something to aim for, which on an 8/9 hour drive helps and b) it means we've got a chance of a decent night's sleep before Reno.

From there it's a 4 hour "hop" to Reno, and, if the timing goes right we should get there before lunch.  Which would give time for check-in, unload and registration.

I skipped last year but did go to Montreal which involved a Red Eye, and I don't want to ever feel that tired at the first evening of a con again!

So Barack...

 What the hell was that?  That, you heard me.  That speech you just gave.  The one that sounded passionate, the one that sounded like you had a vision, an agenda, in short, a clue?

Go back to the White House, watch that speech again, watch the crap you gave on Monday about the downgrade.  Give yourself the F you deserve for the Monday speech and do some bloody leading by the person who just turned up in Michigan.
