Reading Reviews...
Aug. 10th, 2011 03:57 pm There's a "cool" review on the Android Market about the app complaining that their "recent" (i.e. new) HTC Wildfire runs it far too slowly and we need to fix it.
We're looking into some other HTC stuff at the moment, but I also looked up the specs for the HTC Wildfire....
530MHz CPU...
Ah... I think I may have a solution to this.
BUY A NEW FRICKIN' PHONE!
To put this in perspective, the first generation of Android phones were all built on the Qualcomm MSM7K chipset which is rated at 750Mhz, and quickly were replaced with MSM8K ones running at over 850MHz... most of the new phones are actually running 1 GHz...
So, basically, you've bought a new phone that runs at 70% of the speed of the first generation hardware.
Now, kudos to HTC for having been able to build a working Smartphone on a 500MHz core... but... I can't help but feel there's going to be a LOT of people who can't use any apps.
