Visa Update
Nov. 29th, 2006 12:49 pmAfter having a hissy fit a week ago, things have started moving. I'm informed that my visa application will be submitted to the INS today and the lawyers expect the visa to be approved within 10 days (the joys of inter-company transfers). The tricky bit starts then.
Once it is granted the INS have to send the physical approval to our lawyers, who then have to Fed-Ex it to the UK. I then need to present it in person at the US embassy to get it approved and stuck into my passport. Getting the appointment takes some weeks (usually) and they claim they need the passports (mine and the wife's) for a week. After that I'll have a US visa.
The next bit is also tricky. We have to apply for a work permit for M which takes up to 120 days. One option will be to fit another short trip in January for M to apply for the permit, and then move in March.
