Stepping Up
Nov. 28th, 2006 11:34 amAfter 3 weeks of nothing happening, suddenly the US office bothered to kick of the Visa process. Cheers lads, about bloody time. Actually, there is still an outstanding form, and I'm pretty sure we're looking at March before we can move, which will be a pain in the rectum and no mistake gov'nor.
At the same time I've been helpfully pointing out that now the move will be in Q1, I also need to review my salary and package for 2007. This, however, is tricky, and has fallen into a gapping crack in the new Org chart where, it would appear, I sit.
Finally I spoke to the head of HR in Sweden and outlined my position. She seemed to take it on board and will handle it - we shall see.
We have got some appartments to see during the week of the 9th, and we'll be probably making a flying visit to the Bay Area for the O'Neills' pub quiz on a Wednesday (that's the pub name, not us).
For the rest of today I'm working on my divisional business plan (again) and awaiting Argos delivery new furniture for me to assemble. We're taking the opportunity to upgrade some of the stuff in the flat so that it all looks shiny and new when we come to rent. This means we're getting rid of the following:
- 28" TV and Stand
- 2 chests of drawers
- uplighter
- Upright freezer
- 2 bed side tables
- coffee table
None of it is particularly exciting but its furniture.
