Hmmm... weird...
Nov. 30th, 2006 04:56 pmM got made redudant this afternoon. She just called.
She's been effectively constructively dismissed, along with her entire team when the bank moved everything back to Frankfurt and waited for the team to resign - which has been happening in dribs and drabs. The only reason she's not walked already was the potential for a move to Seattle and, with regard to that, the timing probably couldn't be better.
She's bringing the offer letter back with her, but there is a consulting period to start now and then at least 2 months pay, which probably puts the package in the 5 months area. That actually would work well as it could fund the time she's waiting for her L-2B in Seattle.
It also unblocks the potential issues for the move, as a controlling factor was her notice period.
The visa application went to the INS yesterday and I'm told I should have the approval notice in 10 days. As soon as we get the receipt number for the application we can schedule the interview and then we're ready to go. This might actually mean we're moving in Jan.
It somehow feels a little odd, a little like somebody is trying to make this easy for us. The only remaining blot is the fight I'm having over my 2006 pay and my package for next year.
