Travel, Moving and Logistics...
Feb. 22nd, 2006 11:19 amSo, as astute readers will have noticed, we've bought a flat in West London. We should complete on Tuesday and I am planning on being in London next week to take the keys. I could, of course, also go to the Ton - however, I've also got to go to Seattle for a week...
This presents something of a logistical nightmare for the move. I'm in Seattle from Wednesday (flying Wed 1st on BA49 14:05 ;) ), and returning the following Tuesday night (BA48 18.30) - this leaves a move sometime in the following weekend/week as the only option.
So, we only have this weekend to get the house ready for the move and sort our stuff into moving/storage/chuck out piles. I see many many trips to the dump for me on Sunday. We also have 2 episodes of Veronica Mars and Invasion to catch up on, plus Season 1 of Commander in Chief.
I also then have another trip to the US at the end of March, I think I can have April off from long haul travel and then I've Las Vegas in May. I'll have to be back in Seattle in either May or June. This has me cruising through my Gold BA card renewal and well on way to a pair of free upgrade tickets which M and I will plan to use for the World Con next year.
Anyway, back to planning work and moving - of course, the really sad thing is that from mid-March my 5 minute walk to work will be replaced with a long drive to either Winchester or Bath. OTOH we will be living together again, in London, near other fans and friends and I will have the option to work from home when I want to.
As one wag in the office remarked, you're here so little anyway, it will be nice to formally have your office back. Thanks guys.
