Having a fight with Brent Council over parking fines - just had a rather obnoxious South African put the phone down on me for pointing out that she was being an obnoxious South African. M is going to handle it from now, probably for the best. She knows how to say rude things in Afrikaans.
Almost threw the radio out of the kitchen window this morning listening to Hitchins on the Today program going on about how much better Imperial measures are than metric. You find certain Libertarian types have a hang up about Imperial, they also have a stock in pointless excuses and myths.
It is not more "instinctive" - it only seems that way if you grow up with something.
No, they do not sell wine in 1 litre bottles (well, actually they do) but it is sold world wide in metric measures.
Other countries have managed to move, so it's not impossible.
It's going to be one of those days. I've eaten a Mars Bar I didn't need and I think I'm going to buy a Media Centre PC I don't need either.
