About to leave for Heathrow, off to Seattle this afternoon for the first trip of 2006. M's flatmate has quite bad 'flu so we decided to drive up this morning rather than last night. I duly set the alarm for 5 and fortunately woke up at 5.11 realising that I had set the alarm for 5pm. I detest non-24 clock alarms.

A pretty murderously busy week in Seattle, I hope to hook up with some Seattle fandom, but we have a team of around 20 coming with for a major project planning workshop. I'm not sure of the logistics of this myself, but I fear I see hangovers in the future.

I have been invited to a party on Saturday night before I fly to Chicago at midnight, to connect to Tokyo.

I had put Johnathon Strange and Mr Norrel in my bag. My idea was this would keep me quiet on the flight segments. The trouble is I could barely lift my laptop bag with it and the rest of my junk in it. I've exchanged it for something smaller and plan to use disposable paperbacks on the way around and leave them as I finish them.

I've a John Grisham my brother gave me for Christmas for the flight today - alteratively, I also have 6 episodes of Stargate Atlantis to watch. I was going to watch the latest Battlestar Galactica, but I couldn't wait and watched it last night. Well good it was too.

M and I also finished the excellent Carnivale on Sunday - very under rated and a real loss now it has been cancelled.
