Busy doing nothing...
Jan. 9th, 2006 04:12 pmWell, at the weekend at least. Did get to the gym, did eat "sensible" food all weekend and maybe sort of made up for Thursday's excesses.
Lost my eBay virginity on Saturday making my first ever sale. A DVD box set somebody gave me that I didn't need which went for a rather gratifying £20 plus postage - now I see how it works I think I'll offload... ahem... sell some more valuable items.
Spent Sunday watching TV and whinging at Telewest, whom, having said they had fixed our internet problem (and at 11am Sunday they had) then let it crash and burn again for the rest of the day. I strongly suspect that the Student's with whom I share the node are doing something pretty ping intensive which is crippling the throughput for the rest of us who just want fat pipes. Interestingly IM clients and my BT client, which I have set on defined Port Addresses keep up (albeit at really low speeds) and it's the actual net and email which die.
Getting back into the swing of work - more on that another time. But I am, apparently, getting a new laptop. Looks like they're going to spring for a Sony Vaio TX2 which looks lovely, weighs 1.4kg and has a 6hr battery life... hmmm... I'll believe that when I see it.
