Favours that backfire
Jan. 11th, 2005 11:40 amAs a favour, we gave a car to a friend who gave it to a friend. If that makes sense? Anyway, the friend of the friend got caught on camera by the congestion charge system. We spoke to them and they said they'd pay up. So we forwarded the details to them to state they were the driver and they were paying.
3 months later *I* have been given a Country Court Summons for non-payment of the Charge for a car I no longer owned because DVLA are too fecking slow in processing vehicle change forms.
Now I have to go to a solicitor to sign a sworn affadavit(?) that I was not the legal holder of the car and state who was and clear my record.
This sort of thing really really PISSES ME RIGHT OFF.
Ahem. Sorry. But it does, so there.
