I went a bit mad on usenews last night. Well, it was the other guys fault, he made me do it. Look, you can see what I mean here: ( Rand Simberg, Conservative Republican

Rand knows a lot about Space Travel, sadly he lives in the place where people who find George Bush to be a bit of a wooly liberal go to get hyped up again. The man is amazing. Literally.

He's been telling me for weeks now that the the UN is irrelvent and that the Iraqi people will welcome the US with open arms and be grateful for it. I watch the people in the cities in Iraq and remember seeing footage of the Para's being handed cups of tea by Catholic mothers in Belfast. What part of "cultural difference" do these people fail to grasp?

It makes me feel very very nervous about the future.

Its almost like we went to sleep in the 1990's and woke up half way through the TV series of Whoops Apocalypse. About the time that the US are trying to find somewhere to hide the Shah of Iran.

Anyway, busy times. Lots of work plus I'm on holiday next week, which will be nice. I've got 2 short stories to write that I planned the other day, plus I have to get the Technobabble Quiz ready for Eastercon.

Plus I got my progress report for They Came and Shaved Us today - which looks like it'll meet previous standards for Fun cons.

I'm off to sunny Seattle again sometime this month, if we can get a ticket. Basically while the world has stopped flying, it hasn't stopped flying to Seattle. I blame that Gates character myself. Apparently the MS staff call the BA flight "the Bus".

Anyway, get this, an economy ticket - ECONOMY for somethings sake - is currently over £1200, with luck I might get an agreement to pay a little extra and get premium economy.
