I'm off to sunny Seattle again sometime this month, if we can get a ticket. Basically while the world has stopped flying, it hasn't stopped flying to Seattle. I blame that Gates character myself. Apparently the MS staff call the BA flight "the Bus".

Anyway, get this, an economy ticket - ECONOMY for somethings sake - is currently over £1200, with luck I might get an agreement to pay a little extra and get premium economy.

I checked on Travelocity. My God the West Coast is expensive now. If you check the flexible date option you can go with Air Canada via Toronto over a weekend and pay 270+tax. Just claim the 1200 and treat M to a weekend away!

Yes, its the over the weekend thing I am trying to avoid. I've done Seattle at the weekend, I've done it several times at the weekend and I have no intention of doing a long haul flight and then working immediately if I've had to change planes.

Some of us are over 6 foot John!

The other problem is we don't book our own travel, its done for us. So no chance to do the kind of thing you suggest.
