Clean Things
Apr. 2nd, 2003 10:43 amWe've got a cleaner. I may have announced this before, but now we've got one who actually is starting, so I'm looking forward to going home to a clean house with all the ironing done. Which will be nice.
I still can't help feeling that there is something "wrong" about having a cleaner - something very 19th century about it. M doesn't have any of these hang ups, of course, growing up in RSA cleaners etc are just what everybody has. Its probably why a lot of South Africans have this view that apart from the low crime, living in England is akin to some vision of hell on Earth. "No pools, no cleaners and no sun; and you call this a country?"
Anyway, I'm happy about it. We've both been working insane hours, I'm travelling a lot and its not fair that M, who is being left at home working on her MBA, is doing a lot of the work.
