We've got a cleaner. I may have announced this before, but now we've got one who actually is starting, so I'm looking forward to going home to a clean house with all the ironing done. Which will be nice.

I still can't help feeling that there is something "wrong" about having a cleaner - something very 19th century about it. M doesn't have any of these hang ups, of course, growing up in RSA cleaners etc are just what everybody has. Its probably why a lot of South Africans have this view that apart from the low crime, living in England is akin to some vision of hell on Earth. "No pools, no cleaners and no sun; and you call this a country?"

Anyway, I'm happy about it. We've both been working insane hours, I'm travelling a lot and its not fair that M, who is being left at home working on her MBA, is doing a lot of the work.

First, Monday was one of our wedding aniversaries (If anybody really wants to know why we have 2, you can ask...) but we also confirmed M's first semester MBA results.

Her average for was 66%, which given she was ill all through the exams and had a call the night before they started that her nephew had been taken to Intensive Care with Menningoccal Septicaemia - are brilliant. She got over 70% in several subjects.

Top quartile of the Bath MBA, you go girl! Yay!

CLEAN

I went home at lunch and had to do a double take as I went through the door.

Is it an actual fact that things are cleaner when somebody else cleans, or am I imagining things? Am I, at the end of the day, just bloody awful at cleaning and tidying.

It took me but minutes in the kitchen to mess it up again, but it was nice to experience entering a kitchen where everything was clean, sparkly and in the right place.
