A quick note of thanks to those that have pinged me to support my views on Jordon 'bloody' Bassior - I know I'm not alone...  it's a big club!

But still nice to know how big!

Hah! Ignore the idiots. There are too many of them to take their idiocy personally.

I'm not good at ignoring stupidity... it gnaws at me.

All my Army friends were friended by Jordan around 2004. All have since de-friended him, since his union of cowardice and jingoism is particularly offensive to those who actually have to get shot at.

I would love to have him answer the question, "If you love Israel so much, Jordan, why don't you move there?" He certainly feels that more American tax dollars and military lives need to be invested in a country across the world that doesn't give back a whole lot.

He's not particularly unique in that regard, and he is extremely keen on strategies which commit US forces to endeavours that are, charitably speaking, of no strategic value.

As I remarked to him recently via Chris's LJ - when the history of this era is written, the impact of the Iraq venture versus doing the right thing in Afganistan, after centuries of the wrong things, will go down as one of the pivotably inept ones.

His interest in going into Muslim countries with ground forces defeats me.

he's trying to avoid the 'land war in asia' lines?

For some reason he seems to believe that the US has something like 5m people in the army and a near infinite capacity to wage land wars practically anywhere.

one US soldier who is pure of heart (and I expect, moral) has the strength of however many are required for my plan to Put The World To Rights...

I think he just wants an excuse to kill Muslims.

You mean an excuse for other people to kill Muslims for him?

Oh, yeah, I forgot. I couldn't imagine him doing it if it means risking his own ass.

I'd strongly avoid Rand Simberg's blog if you have a problem with unquestioning support of the Israeli question - he's of a very similar mindset on MANY MANY positions to Jordan, he just happens to be a LOT brighter... not that that necessarily says much.

Jon Stewart did a great segment recently on anti-Israeli statements made and how he couldn't repeat them because they were all in hebrew and made by members of the Israeli parliament...

I saw that episode of "The Daily Show".

Oh, and Jordan digs himself in deeper with the fact that he doesn't believe that Barack Obama is a natural born citizen of the US. The stupid is just...wow.

One of my favorite 'Jordans' was an essay er... rant he posted about Holland's euthanasia laws being a slippery, slope. Except if it was a slope, it was an uphill one, which he'd have noticed if he hadn't referenced data that was over a decade out of date.

The sad thing is, he and Ford and others really seem to believe they are towering intellects who just don't understand how the rest of the world can be so stupid.

About 2 years ago, Ford was explaining how I was an idiot because I admitted I'm pretty crap at welding, and he explained how easy it was. To which all I could ask, was what type of welding - gas, arc, MIG, TIG, steel, alloys, stainless, aluminium?

Any idiot can weld two pieces of metal together, but that doesn't actually mean you're any good at it.

Oh, and the time he blamed Obama for an event where the British government released some Iraqi prisoners in exchange for some British ones. "They were in American custody!" he exclaimed. I pointed out that at that point, under the terms of the Security Agreement, there was no such thing as "American custody". The Iraqi prisoners were being held in Iraqi hands; the U.S. had handed over prison functions. That didn't matter, he didn't like it so it had to be Obama's fault.

I want to ask him, if he is such a towering intellect and so good at everything, why is it that he seems to work as a telemarketer? It must be the Democrats' fault.

A good friend has often remarked that you rarely see "The Market Works" bumper stickers on nice cars.

I suspect he feels that the democrats and their nasty socialist ways are keeping him down.

There's a meme that only left wing actors do well in Hollywood - I assume they forgot to tell Clint Eastwood, Tom Sellect, Ed Harris, Adam Baldwin etc...

I'll go further and say that the reason that the reason Alec Baldwin has a better career than his brother Stephen has nothing to do with which one is the republican...
