I suppose it takes one to know one and all that. Although, given the thread in question was basically him pointing out that while South Korea was a pretty horrific regime for a while, because it was better than North Korea then that was all alright. It's still and interesting question, because if the best options you have for showing that US has a good history in nation building are South Korea and the Philippines then I think you need to start defining nation building.
I discounted Germany and Japan on account of them being more group efforts and having a lot of resources thrown at them. If we were remotely, as the west, prepared to throw that kind of resource and effort at helping in other parts of the world I wouldn't be as deeply cynical as I am.

Interestingly, I get called a few names by some of Jordan's friends here and, gosh, when I follow the links to their live journals I learn lots of things. Apparently, the democrats and Obama are turning the US into a socialist hell hole.

I was once told I was very passive aggressive and as that wasn't my intention, I've actually become just aggressive about it in the last few years and it's proven much easier to deal with. But I don't really have a problem with being called names by a guy who called for the nuking of various Muslim capitols a few years back.
