Blogging Is Not Necessarily Reporting

Rand Simberg does one of his usual context free reposts of a Right Wing blog here.
The fun thing here is that Rand is REALLY big on the purity of the blogger compared to those mad, left-wing, journalists.
His post is a repost of this, where Taegan Goddard latches onto a statement to conclude that the President doesn't read much. They pick up a semi-joking exchange between a reporter being interviewed about interviewing the president (how zen is that eh?) where Obama basically says that he has time to watch sports center and floss.
What they missed, even though it's in the quote, is that this was during the fraking campaign. Frankly I'm surprised the man had time to sleep.
Even worse, they didn't pick up on the next item where the president turns out to be so ill-read that he was able to have a discussion with the journalist on the works of Philip Roth...
I mean, seriously, there are many things I can believe people would think of Obama but ill-read?
Give me a break.
