The empathy problem though... I suspect this is an actual issue with a significant chunk of people on the Libertarian side of US politics. There was a delightful video on the news yesterday of anti-"healthcare" reform types making fun of a sick counter demonstrator.
It makes me wonder about living here. Then I visit home and wonder about there too. *sigh*

I suppose the challenge I have with Jordan and friends, and their fellow travelers over at Rand's site is the lack of empathy with anybody or anything really except their own personal gain.
As Charlie puts it "fuck you, I've got mine"...
I'm seeing this pop up all over the place with people finding nothing wrong with torture and imprisonment of people caught versus battlefield use of drones.
One of the problems, one of the many problems, I have with Jordan is he called for mass nuclear strikes on muslim civilian targets post 9-11... which suggests a moral compass pointing to wrong.
