Various Weekend Stuff
Jun. 25th, 2012 09:31 amSaturday I crawled out of bed in time to watch the England v. RSA game. Generally speaking a fun game. It's pretty rare to see a draw in Rugby so it was nice to watch one.
In the afternoon, M went shopping and I grabbed a beer and snack watching the Spain v. France game. Not all that fun, but the obvious result.
We then watched Abraham Lincoln - Vampire Hunter. Not a lot to say about this film. It's a turd. But it is a sparkly, perfumed turd and worth watching.
The evening we wandered out for Sushi with friends and then a few drinks around Capitol Hill soaking in the Pride Atmosphere. One negative point. We stopped in at a bar a friend owns. She was out of town and her co-owner was at their other bar... sadly the staff they had on weren't exactly doing a good job. For a gay friendly bar on Capitol Hill, during Pride, this is really terrible. They were getting a lot of walk in traffic but the bar staff obviously didn't want to be working and make sure we were pushed out after a single drink. Frankly, that's shocking and I've mailed the owner to let her know what they were doing. I thought long and hard and I don't like seeing a friend taken advantage of. This is a newish bar they've opened and I know it's not all that busy yet. But having staff trying to get people out after a single drink isn't what bar owning needs.
Sunday: I spent a chunk of the day doing the H1 accounts and watching the England game.
All I can say about the game is THANK GHODS England didn't get through, watching that shower against the German team would have been horrible.
