Start Up Poker - Not as good a night...
Sep. 22nd, 2011 09:06 amSometimes the cards don't run, and in a small/quick tourament you need a little luck. Frankly, I had very little of that.
I was doing quite well for the first couple of hours, but then it all went a bit wrong. I "walked" into a WEIRD straight that nobody saw coming which beat up my A-A, Q-Q - then a little later I had to push hard on a pair of Aces, only to walk into 3 Aces... I really didn't see him having that hand. I was pretty sure he had a high pair, but I though the odds on him having both remaining Aces pretty low.
Then, just as I thought I was back in the game, I pushed all-in on K-K, the other guy had Q-6... except he flopped a straight... FFS! Another straight!
While it's nice for people to compliment me on my poker, it's pretty annoying to walk into a couple of lousy runs.
Never mind, some good networking was had.
