A boring life post....
Aug. 31st, 2011 01:41 pmWork isn't really on hold, but as most of our clients and prospects are either on holiday due to the recent British August Bank Holiday, or going on holiday due to the upcoming US Labor Day holiday, it's all very quiet.
This is giving us time to get some boring admin out of the way and get up to date on some stuff.
In other news:
- I have a shiny new BBQ. It's for my birthday which isn't for 10 days - OTOH they wanted to make sure we got it and it was a deal for one going out of stock. So I have "leapt" from a single burner, camping Weber to a 5 burner with hotplate/panini press MONSTER which is ever so cool
- I have now 2, yes 2 propane cylinders - I am a real American now!
- I have a small fire pit for the newly de-laureled garden
- We're preparing for my family to visit on Friday for the long weekend too
Next weekend I shall be committing BBQ for my birthday, a nice prime number with many friends.
In preparation I've just made some BBQ sauce. Oh dear lord, where has that receipe been all my life, and HOW much money have I wasted on bottles of the shop bought crap???
Simple Kansas City style BBQ
- Heat 1/4 cup of Olive Oil, add in some garlic - cook till brown
- Add 1 Cup Tomato Ketchup
- 1/4 Cup Water
- 1/4 Cup Vinegar - I used Balsamic
- 1/4 Cup brown sugar
- 2 TBL Spoons Paprika
- 1TBL Spoon Chilli Powder
- 1 TSP Cayenne Pepper
I actually mucked around and added a bit more garlic in the form of garlic powder and a bit more heat. But it's simply wonderful.
