Tyson: Day 11
Jun. 17th, 2011 09:28 amThe "patient" is sitting next to me looking comfy. He's walking better, still lightly "skipping" but planting his front right paw more accurately, he's also pretty much getting up and down as he wants to and seems to be handling his own potty functions better. He also started drinking from the normal water bowl yesterday rather than the one on the raised platform that he likes to eat from but not drink.
He does need to do some weird stuff with the gammy leg to get down to drink, but it's not too bad.
Still, everyday really does look like progress and the dark days of last Friday seem a lifetime ago.
The downside is we're both physically and mentally exhausted. I still haven't figured out what we're doing with him next Thursday. Getting up at 6am to get them out and make sure he doesn't have an accident is hard work, and then doing the physio several times a day is actually quite hard work. As is carrying him up and down the main steps.
Anyway, give that 10 days ago I seriously thought we were going to have to put him down, this is much better.
