Mercury is in retrograde...
Dec. 22nd, 2010 10:26 amAt least that's what M told me urging me to make sure that all our data was backed up and protected. It always is. Anyway, I muttered something under my breath about the validity of horoscopes and thus was happy to find last night:
- the entire home network collapsed, taking a solid hour of tweeking and sequenced restarts after a 5 minute power down and a full reboot of the home server
- the Satellite TV died... yup, one second the DVR is happily recording stuff - the next there's no signal on any satellites... this happened a week or so ago after one of the storms, but usually it recovers... it *might* be dish alignment, it might be an Act of Dog (part of the cable to the dish looks to have been chewed slightly, I hope to the gods it's not the fucking great tree the neighbours have that *might* be now partially obscuring our LOS.
And, with a busy morning of Skype based conference calls... Skype goes down globally.
