Alive!

For some reason our last change of address didn't reach NatWest.  So I've been running without access to my UK bank account.  That hasn't been too much of a problem until I actually needed to do something there and found that I've not got a current debit card nor a security access device for the bank account.

All fixed now.

If there's a weaker argument about not paying taxes than "It's my money, I earned it" then I've yet to hear it. 

In more Tax Ranting...

As I was driving back from an errand I happened upon a car.  It was, charitably, an elderly car - probably an early 90s Volvo, and not a particularly high marque one either.  It was being driven by a guy in his 50s with obligatory baseball cap upon his head.

On the rear bumper for all to see was a NO on I1098 sticker.

I-1098 is the proposal that will introduce a state income tax on individuals earning over $200,000 or couples earning over $400,000...

I'm fairly comfortable in saying that this guy was neither and is probably unlikely to be.
