Still Sick

Well this is getting boring.  Day 3 on the sofa, and while I can tell things are improving I don't remember the last time I felt this grotty.

Still I've been working without a break on the startup for a long time now and it's been pretty intense.

Anyway, catching up on months of TV and relaxing has been nice.  I'm just getting bored of it right now.

I know it's been mentioned before, but I really don't understand the lack of circuit breakers in the control consoles.

T'Pol appears to have a fairly impressive collection of skin tight jumpsuits and for the life of me, apart from the obvious I can't figure out why.

I'm also trying to figure out what a Vulcan is doing with Breast Enhancements...

So, basically it looks like there were 2 problems.  Firstly, she needed an inhaler for her breathing which she's probably been putting off for years.

Secondly, she's probably got a GI bleed, most likely a stomach ulcer - this comes as no surprise as my mother tends to  eat like a teenager.  My sister and I just spent an hour discussing strategies for this which have come down to Ocado delivery a set of nice, easy to cook ready meals and salads, milk and the like once a week to make sure she's got stuff in to eat from.  The winter weather hasn't helped as she's quite obviously not been going out much.

The bleed seems to have led to anemia agrievated by the Warfarin she's on.  Apparently this is a typical side effect of Warfarin treatment and nothing to worry about but she'll be in front of a specialist within a week as soon as they can get her booked in for the consult.

We can chalk a bunch of this down to mum assuming that symptoms were just something that would go away in time.

I'm told that stuborness is a trait that runs in the family.

I just had a bad customer service experience and it probably wasn't helped by a mutually racist/tribalist moment on both sides.  Let's face it, the British Accent can piss people off, we can sound superior even when we do mean it.  And there's a certain South Eastern US accent that makes my brain switch to deal with the dumb hick annoyed.

Apparently Setanta Sports stops on Sunday night at 9pm.  When I called Direct TV they confirmed this and switched me to billing who immediately said this wasn't happening.  I pointed out that their customer support team and the onscreen program guide all said this would happen.  She then switched tack and said they were transferring subscribers to a new channel but they hadn't concluded the negogiations yet...

So...  you stop with Setanta at 9pm on Friday, you haven't concluded negotiations with Sky Soccer Plus yet and still you're telling me that there won't be an interruption in service... er...  ARE YOU LISTENING TO WHAT YOU ARE SAYING???

I'll pick it up on Monday.

She also seemed to fail to grasp the idea that they hadn't informed me that this was happening was a problem.  And, while I'm ranting don't tell me that there's a website and a messaging system when I'm looking at both of them and there isn't anything there!
