...to get away from it all.
I glanced at John C Wright's Livejournal today to see if it had calmed down from the stygian depths it plumbed yesterday.
Kinda, sorta...
John is obviously feeling a tad contrite, and I'm prepared to believe he wasn't prepared for the effective DNS that happened yesterday. So he's offering some Olive Branches.
Problem is, you probably shouldn't start one with: First let us clarify who the enemy is. It is not the homosexuals. The enemy is the homosexual lobby (who for the most part are happily married heterosexuals) that are devoted to a Leftwing antinomian agenda, and willing and eager to use pressure tactics to enforce the doctrinal conformity so near and dear to the heart of the Left.
John. Mate. If I might call you such. You didn't see "pressure tactics" yesterday, not in the organised, let's go down to the town hall and screw up the healthcare debate because I don't want that damn government touching my medicare... You saw a lot of really really really angry people of a variety of political positions and view points telling you that, even within your own religion, you hold a marginal and, frankly, downright insulting position.
I went to a wedding two weeks ago, two women made a life time committment to each other. It was beautiful, it was touching and they positively glowed from it. Both their families attended, and friends, straight and gay and we had a great time. The trouble was it wasn't official, it wasn't "real" because archiac dickheads like you want to force two loving, kind people to not be able to express their love for each other because it offends your vision of what your mythical diety wants.
That's the real sin here.
