Start Ups as a Metaphor for Fandom

I've put a post over on Atomicrazor about this.  Driven by a post on the local Seattle Start up Blog about how clique ridden and back stabbing the start up community is and how like High School it can be.

It's not High School.  At least not just, it's any fan or enclosed community and the parallels with Fandom are extremely interesting.

Open Keyboard, Insert Foot

Having posted something insanely insulting and also quite stupid, johncwright, has decided to shut down his blog to comments to anybody except friends for the time being.

Shame.  

I've been in a bad mood all day and been grumbly at idiots over healthcare at Rand Simbergs file of bile, and Wright was also high on my shit list.

Normal service is being resumed now as I chill.
