Should scifi lovers be forbidden from writing scifi?

Ugh.  My thoughts - there's plenty of original Science Fiction, just as there is plenty of original fiction out there.  It just doesn't get made into media.

The problem isn't with the availability of original source material but with the nature of the production process of movie and TV mediums.

Pond Travel

I have been asked about my travel 'cross pond.  Well, here's a brief run down of my plans for the next quarter.

7-9: Las Vegas (CES)
14-17 Sweden/Denmark
18-20 UK (not sure of plans at this point might have to do something with la familie)
24 San DIego
28(ish) Rhode Island

Feb
9-15 Barcelona (3GSM MWC)
16-19 London

March
No plans yet - I was hoping to get to the Eastercon but I can't face a trip across to the UK just for that especially as I'm due in Europe for April 15th.

So I have 2 trips to the UK planned and should, therefore, plan some pub time.  Be warned, I'll be in bad shape after MWC, I usually am.

1 Mile

Have I mentioned ever that I hate running?  I've never been very good at it.  Waliking.  Now walking I can do all day, a steady 4mph and I'll keep going for ages.  A jog and I'm dying in literally a few minutes.

I set myself a goal to get over a mile at a steady jog (4.5mph) with a goal of doing a mile non-stop as a jog and then increasing the distance and time.  Well, having set myself a few weeks to do it, I actually got to the mile on my 3rd go and then walked another mile.

So.  Next aim to raise the temp slightly to 5mph and set a new goal of 2 miles.

CES 2008

As I've mentioned before, I'm off to CES next week and I'm going to try and do some Blogging from the show using some tools I'm trying out.
