Ego boosting
Nov. 12th, 2007 11:41 amWent for a drink with some co-workers the other night and got the usual ID check. (*)
The waitress checked the other guys, I gave her my driving license and thanked her for the compliment, she scowled, took it, and did a double take. "Good job," she said. It's a small thing but we take this stuff where we can.
(*) Seattle Mayor Greg Nicholls is waging a war against sin and depravity in Seattle - ignoring the fact that Seattle was largely founded on Sin and Depravity. He's got the police and so forth working to close down "trouble spots" around the city by running sting operations of places which are not checking ID for everybody and serving people who've had too much.
Greg, mate, the problem isn't the bars around Belltown serving drinks - it's the fact you've let Belltown get gentrified and been happy to let the police create a no go drugs zone down on Western and Elliot which spills up onto the gentry with the nice Condo's on First and Second around Bell. Sort out the sink zone and a lot of the problems will resolve themselves.
