Have I Mentioned That I'm Tired?
Sep. 20th, 2007 04:25 pmNo? Well, then let me mention it. I'm completely shattered. An evening of dire TV and warm drinks awaits me and then an early night. I might even brave the relative cold of Seattle and sit in the Jacuzzi on the deck (yeah, I know, sickening isn't it.)
Now all I have to do is figure out what to do about Ms birthday present. (a) she knows she has one because she collected the box from the conceirge, (b) it's a new phone and she's pestering me about going out with her on Saturday to get one.
(b) is actually the major problem because if I try and hold off for 3 weeks, she'll get annoyed. I think I'll have to give it to her tonight.
Thoughts?

Over at Confessions of a College Callgirl, there's a link to a discussion about a new TV series coming out based on the Belle Du Jour blogs. There's some good stuff at the Confessions blog, she doesn't sugar coat things and she makes pretty interesting reading. In the discussion with "Slut Machine" (I am not making this up) she makes a comment that she worked as a Telemarketer and it was worse than Hooking.
I've not been a Hooker myself (I was a prop*), but I have worked in the nasty end of telesales (in the recruitment business). It's one of the most unpleasant soul destroying things you can do. I didn't do it long before I worked out a more effective way of keeping my management happy, but until you've been stuck with a call list and a target of 50+ calls to strangers who don't want to talk to you per day, then... well, I don't know what. But I'll admit, if I'm feeling down about life and my job and a little depressed, then remembering how I used to feel EVERY SINGLE DAY OF MY LIFE when I did that job usually perks me up no end.
They're good blogs too.
* - sorry, couldn't resist that one. It is the Rugby World Cup you know.
