Dutiful Son...

Stuck here at Sea-Tac due to bad weather in San Francisco.  Looks like I'll miss my Palm meeting (bugger), but will make the eBay one.  Google and Oracle tomorrow.

Sorted out for my mum to come and see us.  We had plans to buy a ticket and upgrade but all the upgrade Business Class tickets were gone.  So I thought about this and decided that we're not getting through our airmiles so I may as well use them.  So I've just informed Mum that she's flying out to see us First Class.  I'm not sure that means anything to her.  She's flown long haul 3 times in her life, and not since 2001 when we did South Africa in Economy.

In fact, she's never flown anything except economy or charter, so this should be quite an experience for her.  We're looking at options for her trip, but hopefully we can leave her with family friends in Vancouver for a few days/week while she's out her.  August is a nice month here and between our deck and the apartment hottub I think she'll be happy.

Travel Madness

I had hoped we'd left the travel problems behind in the UK, only it would appear not.

Latest issue - trying to book an asia trip.

I proposed an itinerary for a Taiwan, China and Tokyo.

What I got back was interesting.  The most interesting part was a route from Taipei to Hong Kong VIA Tokyo.   That's a little like flying from London to Paris via Athens.  It might be that the admin just doesn't have a clue about the geopgraphy.
