General Moving Stuff
Nov. 10th, 2006 11:37 amI've been working on refining the move budget and also some of the issues with getting out of the UK. The company are paying for a corporate flat for 3 months and we're probably going to have to come out in December to figure out where we are going to live and get signed up.
M and my preference is Belltown where our engineering team live now, its a pretty vibrant part of Seattle and handy for downtown, Pike Place Market and a bunch of other stuff. The drawback, as the guides say, is that it is in Belltown, which is a pretty vibrant part of Seattle.
I also need to sort out a car for a few months, which our US business unit can handle.
After 3 months we'll have to figure out an appartment and car and various other stuff out of the relocation budget. I'm assuming we'll hit Goodwill or Thrift stores pretty hard for most things although I have included enough of a budget to get a nice TV system. I've explained to M that now I have a cool TV I'm not giving it up. She seems to be a convert now, so I'll be able to make the next move explaining how essential Home Theatre and a 1080p DVD player is.
