Gosh... Home Again...
Jun. 3rd, 2006 01:11 pmWent to, I think, my first UK Tun this year. Put some faces to LJs I read which is nice. A big hi, I'll not mention you all as typing tags always confuses me and I've a hangover.
Went to Bath yesterday for our project kick off meeting - a tad premature as we haven't signed the contract. The meeting was followed by a 70s ABBA Party night at Bath Racecourse. None of us ate, because we were promised food. The food turned out to be a small 70s buffet, which, as far as I could tell, was actually made in 1974 and then freeze dried. It's been a long while since I ate a Volovent(how do you spell that???) and it will be an equally long while before I do so again. Having Black Forrest gateaux for desert added insult to injury.
I bet and lost on only one race. I'll be honest and say that while horse race days out can be fun, betting on the horses doesn't do much for me. While I could, for example, quite easily/happily loose a couple of hundred playing poker over a few nights in Vegas - losing the same amount on horse races would just wind me up.
We then got news that Microsoft have said yes, finally, although we will not sign the contract until next week. So we had some fizzy wine, I watched Swedes boggle at an ABBA tribute band, and then we decamped to O'Neills in Bath where we drank far far far far too much Guiness.
In all all, a busy few days.
Next week... I've got all my travel sorted so...
Monday - London
Tuesday (am) - Bath
Tuesday (pm) - Heathrow - Copenhagen. I'm arriving late so I'll stay near the airport at CPH
Wednesday - Lund (Sweden)
Thursday - Fly back to London and then onwards to New York
Friday/Saturday/Sunday - NYC
Sunday night - Flying to Seattle arriving about 9pm
Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday - Seattle. I should have a night free if anybody wants to do anything and I will try to bring Dr Who, but no promises guys
Thursday - Flying back to NYC (yes, I will miss the England match...)
Friday/Saturday/Sunday - Long Island and NYC
Sunday - Flying to UK
Monday - arrive 6am, fly onwards to Copenhagen for meetings, flying back at 19:30
Tuesday - SLEEP
If anybody happens to intersect with this lot, let me know.
