Yay! I don't have to go to Nuremberg tomorrow. Which is good.

I will still be heading over to Sweden next week and hence to the US.

I am also taxing our poor travel person with various round-the-world trips.

...I have a confession to make. I've read a Clive Cussler book. It was at an airport, I had a long flight, it looked interesting... Those were my reasons for buying the damn thing but I have to admit that it was shear bloody mindedness that made me finish it.

Valhalla Rising is tosh. It's badly written, awful, awful tosh. If the science wasn't so bad, it could be science fiction. Between the "real" Nautilis, the submarine cruise ship, the Magnetohydrodynamic propulsion system, the super efficient oil that makes engines run a million miles and the development of a Quantum Teleport for complex molecules... well, you probably get the message.

You know it's going to be bad when the writer backs themselves into a corner and as a Deus Ex Machina, they write themselves into the story to rescue the protagonist.

Yes, you did read that right.
