Bah! Humbug!
Dec. 4th, 2005 01:02 pmThe first reaction we normally get from people when we say we live in Bath is usually a variation on, "wow! It's such a lovely city, it must be great to live there."
Well... actually, it can be a royal pain in the arse, truth be told. I went into town this morning to get a paper, by breakfast things and the like and marvel at the massed hordes of visiting tourists alread queuing outside M&S at 10.35am. They come by the coach load, especially for the Christmas Market which is even tackier this year than in previous years and has pretty much the same stalls in the same places as the last 3 years.
Bath is a lovely city, early spring is perfect, the christmas hordes have gone but the summer ones have yet to arrive.
Sadly the window is small and it's painful to live somewhere where the locals are forced out.
We'll have fond memories of this place, but it really is time to move on.
