Life Stuff: Weekends, home, movies...
Nov. 7th, 2005 02:57 pmBusy weekend really. Got back on Friday after a reasonable trip. Lots of interesting stuff happening in the back ground but I can't talk about it :(
On Saturday, M and I travelled to Chiswick to look at possible options for flats. M wasn't sure. I quite like the area and there is certainly stuff there for our budget (a mind buggering £250,000) but it's not ideal. M prefers going further around the clock to Maida Vale/Queens Park etc... in the NW - but that's worse for me for driving connections. We'll have to wait and see. This week I plan to formally start the Mortgage process so we actually have a basis on which to make an offer.
M is pretty down about it though. There's a lot to be done and all the stuff she really likes is up over £300K - which isn't technically a mortgage problem but we just don't have the extra for Stamp Duty at the moment.
I think we need to find something which needs some work at or just below £250,000 and see what we can do.
On Saturday evening we went to the Brothers Grimm at the Electric Cinema on Portabello Road. Great place to watch a move. Comfortable arm chairs with foot stools and a bar and prices on par with much worse seating in Leicester Square.
