Security Risk...
Jul. 25th, 2005 05:24 pmI changed my flight home last week and as part of the process ended up having to cancel and reboot the entire set of flights. Consequently, it would appear that I am a security risk. I have had a full search on each one of the 4 internal US domestic flights I've done since leaving Seattle. Joy.
Met up with an old friend in NYC on Saturday. Went to the Intrepid air and sea museum where they have a Concorde - all I can say is it was more fun last time I went on her :)
Then we walked into town, had a few drinks in a bar off Times Square, then walked around the Rockerfella centre before heading down to Greenwich Village where we had more drinks and food and more drinks before retiring relatively early as befits two elderly gentlemen, one of whom had jet lag.
In Seattle they have a policy of carding everybody going into a bar. I was disappointed to find that in NYC they really do only card people who look like they're in their 20s, I can only assume now that I certainly do not :(
Two days in Seattle now after a pleasant flight back from NYC - some interesting weather over the US at the moment, I'm not used to seeing weather up around 30,000 feet and it's a little disconcerting when the plane has to start flying around cloud heads. Still, we got here - I've a lot of work to do then I go home.
The Worldcon is coming next, then I've probably got a trip to Sweden, then a 2 day trip to Israel at the end of August, followed by 2 weeks in Seattle. At least for that one Maryse is coming with me for a week, after my boss and I did some horse trading around ticket prices. It'll cost me £250, but it will be worth it to at least see Maryse for a set period of time.
