Silly Pricing
Dec. 5th, 2003 02:49 pmOur VCR needs repairing (we think), it was a quite expensive global one we bought when we lived in the US, so its over 2 years old now and has seen a lot of work. It can play *and* record in PAL, NTSC and a bunch of others. So I was looking at electrical goods prices.
Wow. We also need a new TV at some point. The second hand 21" TV I bought when I got divorced (second hand from Radio Rentals) is starting to flicker on colours like yellow which is never a good sign. Wow. Again.
So an entry level DVD player is currently around £40, a VCR £40 and a widescreen TV £200.
I'll bide my time, there are many more important things for us to buy than a TV (starting with a newer car) but still, its impressive to see you could get some of this stuff for the cost of a cheap night out.
