Back in the Real World Now...
Apr. 23rd, 2003 09:52 amYawn!
M is feeling extra bouncy at the moment and insisted on going out last night - we managed to be home at a reasonable time but I nor my liver are feeling very bouncy right now. Getting up this morning was a little like waking up from a general Anaesthetic. Food and a shower and I feel much better.
Atkins can go too. Having lost 5 kg's when I was sticking to it, after the last few weeks of busy work and fun socialising it all seems to have slammed back on in a way that suggests I was doing better without it. Besides, if I have to look at another piece of cheese I may well scream. I will probably, however, keep off the bread and pasta - I certainly feel better when I don't eat them, which suggests to me that I am, in fact, Wheat intolerant - sadly for my waist line, I don't seem to be beer intolerant.
Back in the office now; we have a couple of bids to do (hmmm... pattern forming there) - came in on my day off yesterday to do a couple of things - mostly my commission claim and expenses. Important things, it must be said, only to find out that my travel plans for next week are all screwed up. So rather than travelling next Tuesday and having a weekend here with my good friend
pmcray, I now have to fly on Saturday. I was not a happy bunny.
Our cleaner comes to today and I suspect she'll not be happy. Firstly there is Eastercon stuff all over the house and I think she already thinks my book habit it out of hand and I have a bunch of new books which have materialised. So far, so good, I am really really really enjoying Red Robe by Jon Courtney Grimwood. So much so that negiations permitting I may well go to Novacon to meet him.
