Random Things...

I quite like election night. I've got some nice drink in, and some snacks and am looking forward to the close of polls.

I am also quite enjoying the Sky News Weather forecast at the moment. Who is that woman? She seems over dressed?

Another thing for our American cousins to learn from. An election has been postponed because one of the candidates has died. Go figure.

EDIT: Barbara Flynn is in a repeat of the Beiderbecke Affair. I'd forgotten how good looking she was.

I saw her on a clips show, she has aged pretty well too :-)

Paul and I are both in agreement about Elizabeth Sladen, she has aged fantastically.

She's in her late 50s now and unlike a lot of the former Dr Who companions she has done rather well.

I thought there would be an opportunity for someone to really stuff up the election by getting a few hundred people about to peg it to agree to stand, get the signatures and pay the deposits. Then all the seats would have to be voted on later.

Barbera Flynn is very good, though the complexion doesn't stand up to close inspection, though I'd happily give it a go. I always hoped a G/F with that kind of back-chat.

More amusingly, the Tory fighting to hold that seat may now lose his senior position on the 1922 Committee because he won't be an MP when they hold their election next month.

Apparently my Mum's MP was tipped to be head of the 1922 committee but she's had to step down at this election. However, Broxbourne is an ultra safe Tory seat. The new PPC actually already sold his house in London and has bought in the Constituency.

Hey, George Galloway's tipped to have won Bethnal Green & Bow. This is going to be a very weird night...
