Chrstimas Blerh...

I am the only person who doesn't really get Dr Seuss? I didn't get it as a kid and watching bits of the Grinch last night I came to the conclusion that I was on the Grinch's side in the whole thing. I'd go mad sharing a town with those people.

I'd never heard of him when I were a lad.

I only heard of the cat with the hat and the green eggs and sam and ham and whatever it was until the film came out. I accept that many hold the whole lot dear to them but it leaves me cold.

I wasn't exposed to it all until adulthood and enjoy it muchly.

Would you, could you, with a goat? I would not, could not with a goat!

Agree with you on The Grinch, he was the good guy. But isn't that what Seuss intended?

Nope, never did anything for me. Same as Sesame Street...

Sesame Street worked for me, but it was practically the *only* kids TV on when I was ickle.

It took my parents a while to stop me saying "zee" instead of "zed"

As a child ...

... I lived in the US so it was brainwashed into us every Christmas along with Rudolph, Frosty the Snow Man etc.

I think that A Nightmare Before Christmas is a much better story than The Grinch (and I haven't seen the Jim Carrey version, thankfully)

Never really 'got' Suess as a kid, tho' I did take 1 or 2 books out of the library & found them vaguely enjoyable but way too childish by 7-8yo or so.

I'd never heard of the Grinch one before the movie, have not seen said movie nor read the book, nor do I wish to.

But Sesame St. was cool. (Tho' the Muppet Show was better.) The Count was always my favourite.
