It's not worth doing the update, I can almost guarantee that the performance will just be too sucky for words. We were a little naive last year on trying to accomodate support requests and I've just sent my demands, er, instructions to the staff list of what we will and won't put up with this year.
Our minimum device for testing is now a Galaxy S which is pretty much on the limit of what works and it's not great.
