Late October is all I've heard.

Essentially they're almost the same device - at least the silicon and core software builds are identical. HTC have learned a lot from SEMCs anal testing regime (I'm too modest to say who has been running that for them ahem), and built that into the Touch Pro. So the Touch Pro will be a huge step up from a typical HTC phone.

On the flipside. The panels are good and there is a planned road map of solid software upgrades for the X1 which will be coming along including Flash Support and more of the funky panels.

Not to mention the industrial design on the X1, especially the Aluminium finish is just beautiful.
