General stuff... end of summer edition...
Aug. 26th, 2013 09:35 amWe had some rain yesterday. That's been pretty unusual for this summer which has been basically warm and sunny since May.
Things are getting less and less settled as we move into September and autumn in the PacNW.
My attempts to get back into a regular swimming schedule are proceeding. I can now do 1000m, 500 crawl, 500 breast stroke, without dying. My goal is to get back to 1500 per swim, maybe 2000, but that's a solid hour of swimming and I'm no where near fit enough. I'm doing a solid 35m/minute breast stroke and a 50/60m /minute crawl. If I could do it all front crawl (which I can't) I guess I could get to about 3000m per hour... but it ain't going to happen I suspect.
As usual my body is remembering the time I could do 3000m front crawl and adapting itself. I've noticed the most around my torso where things have tightened up dramatically in just the few weeks I've been back at this. I guess you can't do as much swimming as I did between ages 5 and 13 as I did without it having some effect.
I really could do with getting an underwater iPod.
