I wish I was surprised

Apparently John Scalzi has people who don't like him.  I actually know a couple, and I'd argue that I can understand their positions.  Yes, he does use his blog for self promotion.  No, I don't really mind.  On the whole I find him a relative force for good in the world and therefore that works for me.

Now, on the other hand, he has some people who REALLY don't like him for various values of insane.  He wouldn't link to the latest round, here if you are interested.  Oh, looky here, a racist, sexist, anti-science, pro-religion, fuckwit libertarian loon who likes Austrian economics.  Gosh, I am shocked!  SHOCKED! I tell you.

Not only that, but apparently he moved to ITALY because he thought the US was going to be going through some hard times.  HE WENT TO ITALY???

That's there with people moving to Mexico.

Seriously is Somalia too good for these people?
