I'm still living in the future...
Aug. 6th, 2012 09:45 amSo I mentioned watching the landing via my phone in the pub. I will also point out that the reason we could watch live telemetry streaming from the lander in real time rather than waiting to hear if there was a landing or a 'splat' was due to NASA being able to move another Mars Orbiter into position to act as an uplink back to Earth.
But what is blowing my mind is that we have high resolution pictures of the Curiosity descending under it's parachute taken by the Orbiter.
Seriously.
