Not really sure I get the US attitude to Easter. Friday and Monday are normal working days, so how come this is a 'holiday' weekend? I realised this today when I forced myself to the gym, only to find it's closed for the 'holiday'... Glad to see how Christian worship is marganalised in the US these days.
That was annoying. So instead I walked the dogs and later I'll do something Fannish and go to the Seattle 2nd Sunday meeting - which is on a convenient bus route which is cool.
Second annoying thing: went to pick up a prescription for M. The pharmacist says "the insurance company have rejected this, because the Doctor has increased it to 2 pills a day and they only pay for 1 pill."
"eh?" says I. "So, will they cover a higher dose?"
"Yes," says he.
"So, I'm straight on this... they won't pay for 2 pills but they will pay for a higher dose." He nods. "Well," says I, "I am very glad there isn't a faceless government bureaucratic between me and my Doctor!"
Yesterday I mowed the lawn, did the edges, and generally made the garden fit for habitation. This worked out pretty well and I'm pleased with the results. Next weekend I will open up the BBQ and clean it ready for the new year and get the spare propane cylinder filled - then we'll be ready to cook outside again, which will be exciting. I'm dying to try my pulled pork again.
There may well be brisket this summer...
