It's Friday...

...it's five to five... and it's Dave back at bloody Heathrow.

When I was younger, I used to think it was kind of cool that I might get to fly once a year.

I realised at some point a few years ago that I was flying every month or so, frequently long haul.

Now, I've got to a point where I'm on a plane virtually every week. [Except this week when it's twice...]

I dread to think how many planets it will take to support this life style :(

Anyway, to be at least a little bit fannish on my LJ and less business travel anal - possibly the most peculiar conversation which occured at Concussion involved somebody trying to persuade me to run for TAFF...

Ummm... the first thing that occured was, "in which direction?", the second was about coals to Newcastle.

Such a shame that April 1st has passed - I'd have been tempted to suggest a new fan fund whose goal is to keep specified fans at home in order to stop them flying and to reduce their carbon emissions.

Not quite got to the point where I hate flying, though there has been the occasional heavy month where I've been decidedly ambivalent.

Carbon neutralise your flights?

I guess it's too late to run for TAFF this year as a way of moving to Seattle, then running again next year as a way to get sent back to the UK.

I've been thinking about buying trees to compensate for our flying. when they say New York and back is 1.2 tonnes of CO2 - is that per person or the whole plane?

I suspect there would be an ugly, ugly backlash against that. :)

What's TAFF without a little controversy?
