Tyson: Day 3
Jun. 8th, 2011 08:49 amSo the boy is home. He's pretty upset and confused, which is hardly surprising, but now he's home he's rather demanding that he be allowed his routine. Which is proving a problem as he doesn't, well, er... ahem, like to be watched when he potties except when we're out for a walk, and walking is out at the moment.
He's holding onto things for dear life at the moment, so we'll see how we deal with that later.
Last night he decided to get up and insisted on going to the water bowl in the kitchen rather than the one we'd put nearby and then he insisted on going to his bed to sleep. He managed to move himself in the night though, although I think moving at the moment exhausts him.
His back leg is weaker than I realised but he was able to support himself on all four paws this morning, although he's still pretty hit and miss with the front leg when trying to walk.
The neurologist was actually pretty upbeat when we picked him up. She's observed improvement through the day with him at the hospital, and he seemed to have good nerve function everywhere, we just had to wait for the bruising to subside so he can get more of the motor function back.

We can also start physio and water therapy asap too rather than waiting the usual 4-6 weeks.
So, generally good news all round, but he's a very poorly boy still.
