Alarm went off at the obscene hour of 4am today - I'm off to the Bay Area (in fact, I'm here now) for 2 days to meet and get trained in preparation for our pitches to VCs the week after next.  This kicks off a barking mad set of travel.  Next week I'm at a technical/networking conference in San Diego and then it's back to the Bay Area for the pitches.

Thankfully I'd snagged the front row on one of the older Alaska 737s where there's room to stretch and managed to sleep pretty much from boarding until we bounced onto the runway at SFO two hours later.  The weather is pretty screwed up though, there's yet another low pressure front coming in from the Northern Pacific and while this is nothing compared to what the mid-west gets, it's making for some entertaining high level air over the Oregon-California border and the weather in the Bay Area at the moment is worse than when I left SeaTac.

Couple of things to jot down.  Regulars will recall we'd recently had an attempt to screw us over by a Zuckerburg wannabe...  well... long story short the content partner in that little deal come back to me yesterday and asked if we could take over the iPhone stuff as well as the non-iPhone stuff.  They've still not-executed an MoU with the kid and he's not delivered on the stuff he said we couldn't deliver on.  I am trying not to be too smug.  It's hard though.  Especially given that I've found a couple of opportunities for the content partner which involve sharing real revenues up front.

We also kicked off our first "real" engagement with a third party, which is pretty sweet - we're still haggling over the commercials but things seem to be progressing  well and we should get some PR out of it.

That's not to say that all is fine and dandy.  As we move into having customers and actual money, things get even more complicated than the currently chainsaw juggling I'm involved in and step up a notch to flaming chainsaws and baby tigers, or something like that - insert your own visual - but we're getting there.
